Neg: Garden + BBQ are under construcion (05/08). Kitchen is filthy and too small. Stuff is never there. Even to pay was difficult... Some of the mattresses are very poor. In 2 beds (out of 12) cover was not changed until last customer was sleeping there. 2 keys for 12 people makes it difficult at night to get everybody in at the locked front door. Pos: Location is good, just 5 min walking to the station or the center. The 2 loft rooms are really nice with big bathrooms.

DO NOT STAY HERE. While the facilities are satisfactory, the place was being used like a boarding house when we stayed. Local men half dressed walking around, giving you uncomfortable looks, is not my cup of tea. The kitchen was inaccessible as they used it like their rooms. No garden to speak of, it was pulled apart. No internet, the computer was in the managers office and we he was never there, he only came to check us in.

We were greeted by a gentlemen bereft of any knowledge of the English language or a shirt. We had to wait in the dingy corridor for about half an hour while they called the desk clerk. They did not know about our reservations through this site and for a while, everything looked pretty dim. Once we got to the room though, it was clean and comfortable. The hostel was within walking distance of nightlife and the Pilsner Urquell Brewery. All in all, not bad, but a rough start.

Sorry but we just didnt like this hostel at all, somewhat depressing. The kitchen was filthy, and there was no loo roll and all that kind of thing etc so we would not go here again. But then would not go to Plzen again either, didnt really enjoy, every other town in czech has been great but this one could be done on a day trip.

A beautiful building, incredibly gracious staff. They gave us a fantastic lofted room. A 10 minute walk from the city center and quite far from the bus station.

the room and bathroom were nice. but smoking is allowed in the kitchen and rooms. i had to share my room wih 7 middle aged german road-workers. although it was fine, it didnt have the hostel vibe. the kitchen is not stocked with much.

We stayed in the apartment (only cost about 2 euro more than a dorm). It was really spacious and the bathroom was new.
