staff were very unpleasant, a bunch of green peace wannabees, and pot smokers..

Wonderful in every aspect! One small suggestion is perhaps stick more strictly to the quiet hours.

Location is far from downtown. I could not find bus #17 (listed on my email from the hostel) anywhere on the Seattle bus map posted downtown so I took a long cab ride since it was getting late. The next day another guest told me where to catch the bus to go back downtown. The bus stop was a 10 - 15 minute walk away from the hostel. Location was nice for a view of Puget Sound and was right on a bike trail that led to a beach. Hostel loaned me a single speed bike to use the trail. I reserved a dorm room. I was surprised that nine other people were sharing the same room. Another four people in an ajoining room (staff members) shared the same 3/4 bathroom. Overall, I had a great time.

Oh my goodness, believe the reviews, do yourself a favour and stay here!! I absolutley loved it, the private room was really nicely furnished, had a lock on the door and was really close to the communal area where i met some great people. Lee and Nancy are the nicest guys you will ever meet, they even took us in their van to go see shakespeare in the park! I loved, loved, loved it.

The staff was awesome, and gave the hostel had a strong family feel. When you arrive the staff goes over a list of rules that are followed pretty closely, but don\'t worry it doesn\'t distract from the fun of this place and in fact probably adds to the enjoyment of staying there. The roof top deck was awesome to watch the sun go down behind the mountains and over the Sound while having a cold beverage. You will enjoy yourself if you visit this hostel. Do me a favor and don\'t allow Lee (the owner) to give anyone grief about their jello shots.

It's this kind of hotels that it's managed for people that belief in a hostel as a way of life. Very kind staff.

This hostel is my pick of all Seattle hostels. The staff are incredibly friendly and approachable, the atmosphere is welcoming, and it is a great place to mix with people because the guests are all friendly (at least they were during my stay). I preferred staying here and catching the bus to central Seattle than staying in central Seattle because the environment was so good. Note: The hostel is initially tricky to find, but you can\'t go wrong if you catch the number 17 bus from town and get off at the Seven Eleven (close to the Locks - every bus driver knows the Locks), then walk along the road keeping to the coastline road - after 15-25 minutes you come to Ray\'s Boathouse (famous restaurant with big red sign on the waterfront) and Hostel Seattle is the three-story building directly across the road from it. Great hostel!
