Even though it requires a bit of a walk to the city central, you get an opportunity to visit some nice places where you might not visit if you stay in the city central. Very nice hostel! Haruko, from Japan ~ 8th Oct 2009

Large hostel, with excellent security. Decent location about 20 minutes walk from the town centre. Would be excellent for large groups wanting somewhere cheap to stay in Helsinki. Decent facilities, free internet etc. Helpful staff. Thomas, from England ~ 21st Sep 2009

Cheapest hostel in the city, although it's a bit of a walk to get into town. Had all the basics, although it could have been more fun. Alistair, from England ~ 15th Sep 2009

Some of staff rude and unhelpful; others patient and helpful. Terrible location; too far from everything, even from the main street. Directions for reaching the hostel are poor; the place is very hard to find, i.e., they say you can see the tower from almost anywhere in Helsinki. This is not true at all. Also, the actual walk to the hostel is very far, confusing, and difficult, especially with luggage. Cassandra, from USA ~ 15th Sep 2009

Great all around. A bit of a walk from town, but not too bad - good exercise. Breakfast may be a bit pricey... but this hostel has all the essentials any traveller will need. I am heading back in two days. Izzy, from USA ~ 3rd Aug 2009

The bed linens and towels were lovely - a real surprise! We only have one complaint about our stay: the 11 pm quiet rule was not enforced. We got very little sleep because of the noise being made by other guests in the hallway and neighboring rooms throughout most of the night. Kay, from USA ~ 12th Aug 2009

A decent hostel a little bit out of the way of the city center (just a short tram ride, though). I enjoyed the WiFi, and laundry was only 3.5 euros. The rooms were simple but large. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. - Backpacking Dave David, from USA ~ 19th Jul 2009

Nice hostel with very helpful staff. Maybe room could be little bigger, but it's ok to stay there for two or three days. Andrzej, from Poland ~ 9th Aug 2009

I stayed here in July and there was a soccer tournament going on so there were a ton of boys of all ages from russia and france and so on staying at the hostel all week so it was pretty lively. I met a ton of really great people and made a bunch of friends and definitely had a good time. There's a kitchen, laundry facility, internet, snack machines, great showers, pretty much everything you could possibly ever want. Best hostel so far and it's only 15 min walking distance from the kauppa keskus Kristina, from USA ~ 16th Jul 2009
