The staff were very friendly. They suggested alot and pushed hard on their sales of activities like the Bar Train, Bar Crawl, and Tango Hall. The check-in process took too long. Great experience.I booked the single room and it was perfect (clean, comfortable bed and spacious). The staff were great at this hostel.....especially Sergio and Nacho who helped with the buying bus tickets & reserving the hostel in next destination in Argentina.The breakfast staff and cleaners were so friendly too. I did the pub crawl which was lots of fun and chance to meet other travellers. I have stayed at many hostels thru my travels and I was impressed with Hostel Suites Obelisco. This Hostel is Fantastic. Everyone was so nice and friendly the place was very clean and well taken care of. It is in the absolute best location there is plenty to do in that area or you can catch the city bus and it will take you to La Boca or any other part of the city. The staff was really helpful and spoke english very well. The location is very good, there are many meto lines and buses around the hostel to everywhere. although in late night the area is not nice (almost everything around is closed, except to some kiosk) we took 4 bed private room. I in general enjoyed my stay here, I felt fairly secure, location was excellent, staff were friendly and informative, and there was a wide range of activities offered everyday. Cleanliness is good but if you do decide to take a shower in the late morning do not expect it to be very clean after so many uses....bring a pair of flip flops to wear around in the shower and bathroom area. We were very happy during our stay, the people working there for you are very helpful and friendly, the location is very good and safe. The only minus was the recommended city tour by another company which was badly organised (pick-up with little buses from different locations, then change to a big bus with a lot of waiting, a stop at a football stadium rather than longer or more stops at historic locations) but the young lady at the reception promised to talk to them.
