My girlfriend and I stayed at Hostel Virreyes for 2 nights, and it was a very good experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. We recommend this hostel - it´s a great old-fashioned place and the price is very fine. Most of the staff speak english which is very pleasant.

It's a piece of !@$#%#$. A scam. Don't believe the photos. We run away from the place as the room wasn't clean and there were 'weir' people on rooms nearby... AVOID IT !

Hostel Virreyes was nice for a couple who planned on spending the afternoons and evenings out, but wanted a secure, quiet, clean place to come back to at night. The rooms are plain, but they are comfortable. The free breakfast is tasty but light, and there are little shops and a market nearby. Its about a 10-15 minute walk to the Zocalo, and its right next to the metro stop Salto de Agua, which is also very convenient. I would definately stay here if I came back to mexico city again.

Great hotel with cool grungy feel to it. Lots of activities, great decor, friendly staff, great breakfasts and bar, perfect location and really reasonable price. Get a room on the 6th floor for brilliant balcony view of the city. It really made our stay here in Mexico DF.

It´s in a rough neighborhood, for those who like to go out late. But the staff is really friendly and the building is a piece of art.

One of the girls at the desk rolled her eyes in her head as we had difficultly communicating. What a cow.
