The price is to high ($350 MX) for what this hostel is. Near to it there are several hotels lower on price ($240 MX) more clear and more beautifil. I will never recomend it albert, from Spain ~ 29th Jul 2009

This place has a nice second floor space, recently remodeled bathrooms, and a sweet breakfast spread. Many travelers seem to use the kitchen to cook food. However, the beds are quite close together, and there was some disorganization as when I checked in, a 10-year-old boy was running the desk and couldn't find my reservation. The next day, someone else was told to sleep in my bed. But besides these issues, it was a comfortable stay with a fun Zocalo outside. David, from USA ~ 12th Mar 2009

DON'T BOOK HERE! They DON'T CARE about RESERVATION! We booked a double with bathroom for the 31st Dec and when we get there they told us that people how where in "our" room wanted to stay one more day so our room was not available !?! Strange but true. We tried to explain that the reservation has priority! But nothing to do; we had to move to hotel Dolores Alba, beautiful (but 500pesos instead of 250p). Good breakfast and great location, however.there were unhappy babies up late until 11:30, the washing machine outside our door started at 7am, the staff were so unfriendly. Wouldnt have been so bad if they cared! Also they said that Hostel.com prices were wrong, but we managed to get the 2nd night for the same price, Way overpriced for the experience!
Firstly, it must be expressed that of course concern and sympathy was shown by the hostal staff for our guests. Secondly, as we have never had a problem with bedbugs before, it could very well be that the guests brought the bugs from Chiapas to Merida, themselves. Lastly, that the room has been professionally treated with both insecticides and steam. In regards to the crying baby, our reply is that it is Christmas and New Year�s and families will tend to be together!
