On the morning of 3/29/08, my companion and I walked from our Globe apartment down the street to the Globe bar for an advertised "All American breakfast." But when we got there the man serving wouldn't give us the time of day to take our order and when my companion asked how to go about ordering coffie he said, "I'll bring you your fucking coffee... don't start with me." Hence, we walked out and had ALL of our "American breakfasts" elsewhere. I'm glad our apartment wasn't in the main building so we didn't have to look at that rude server every morning when we left.

Other guests were extremely noisy, could not sleep for 2 nights, we complained and were moved to room where toilet didn't work. Rooms small and dirty, and way overpriced!!

It certainly isnt the worst hostel in Amsterdam. Right in the red light district, very close to coffee shops and cafes. Its quite a stroll to the museums and more cultural side of the Dam, but if u just want a place to rest your head between sessions and going out on the town, then Fuckin' A this is a pretty good choice. Beds are awesome.

The woman who attended us was very rude and aggressive. In the share rooms people were smoking pot (I don’t have problem with smoking a joint, it’s Amsterdam but not inside the room were I’m going to sleep at 2 am in the morning). Basically the place is dirty, the attention is bad and people are rude. I really do NOT recommend this place. My experience there was horrible.

Security was the one thing this hostel had going for it. The lack of warm water, comfortable beds, and heating in the rooms made our stay almost unbearable. Had the flights not been so expensive last minute we would not have stayed for another night.

The staff was friendly, but not helpful when I had my incident. The location was great, very close to the central train station and near the RLD. However (he we go), the rooms were stained and grafitied all over, no hot water sometimes for showers, and VERY POOR security. The lockers that are in the rooms are horrible. I had some valuables in a locker, which another hostel guest broke into and stole $400 worth of items. When trying to talk to the employee, I was NOT allowed to get the police involved until after the owner had confronted the suspects, after which I went to the police station, and they packed up their belongings (with my items) and fled. I never even received an appology, which should've been the least that they could've done. Poor place, makes me never want to stay in another hostel AGAIN! If you bring valuables (Passports, electronics, jewlery), make sure that you bring them with you when ever you leave (only leave behind clothes, and hygine items) and keep an eye out on the other "guests". A lot of drug use with in the rooms. NOT RECOMENDED

The worst place ive stayed in, but its cheap and right in the centre of the action in amsterdam - not so much a hostel as a cheap place to sleep. theres graffiti all over the interior (corridor) walls, the "ensuite" toilets and shower dont look like theyve come close to a clean in months, theres only one key for each dorm which needs to be left and collected at reception whenever you want to go up, theres no kitchen or lounge of any sort apart from the public sportsbar downstairs and then they have the sheek to say that you cant bring in food or drink from outside. If you've got a bunch of mates and youre not looking to be in the place for any longer than it takes to sleep and leave, this place is ok, but this really isnt a hostel.

Really trashy hostel, the only good thing is the location, which is close to the train station, and city center. They pack the beds in so tight into the rooms, there is no common area, very dirty and old, bad mattress, the cleaning lady came in, and while I was trying to nap at 10 AM continually kept banging into my bunk and leaning on it. Basically, this place is horrible, and I would only stay there as a last resort.
