As other people have said, it's not super-convenient to transit (the bus doesn't run evenings or Sundays), and planes do fly low overhead. But the people are nice, the kitchen is great, the neighbourhood is mellow (not exactly hipster central), and the beds are extremely comfortable. Especially good for old guys like me. Our stay at Point Loma was great. It was a great surprise how clean, and how much customer service the Hostel offered. We were prepared to pack our belongings everywhere for fear of theft, but ended up leaving everything in our room. James was an excellent host, both friendly and helpful. We were welcomed by him when we arrived, and he as our main resource as far as the staff was concerned. He made the hostel warm and inviting. Thanks James, and the rest of the point loma staff! Everything is perfect, except for the location. There is only one bus line going through there ( 923). So for those who are not going to rent a car, it is very inconvenient. Every time when you want to go anywhere, you need to transfer a few times. However, it is close to the ocean beach, which is pretty awesome! You can also do the bicycling. It is not a big place. I absolutly LOVED staying here.The staff was wonderful.I loved the location and throughly appreciated the No Drugs/Smoking/Drinking policy.I think it gave the area a much more laid back easy going feel.Wonderful to see little kids running around playing with the lizard. :)Wonderful place I would absolutly stay again!
