Pretty pricey, kinda uptight, but hey, you're pretty close to the Vatican and there's a grocery store about 2.5 blocks away. The kitchen is clean and orderly but they do not provide common things, like cooking oil, salt, etc. We stayed on the 3rd floor/Hotel part so breakfast was included: cured meats, toast, corn flakes, granola, jam, coffee, tea, apples, oranges and milk. That was nice. Books in the lobby and free maps of Rome. Subway is about 5 blocks away. Tramaine, from USA ~ 19th Sep 2009

Positives: Place was clean, showers were nice, and the breakfast was good (even thought 5 euros is a bit much to charge). It's good for getting around the Vatican and even walking distance to Piazza del Popolo. Negatives: There was no real common space, so nighttime was a bit of a "fall into bed" drag, without much of a common hostel-type experience. The Wifi never worked for the 5 nights I was there. There was always a bit of a backed up line getting to the one internet-ready computer (thou Jeremy, from USA ~ 25th Jun 2009

We really loved everything about this hostel. So far we've stayed at a few different places during our trip and Hotel Colors has surpassed them all by far. We will be staying here again at the end of our trip. Thank you! Noelle, from USA ~ 15th Jun 2009

What a great hostel. Perfect for visiting the Vatican since it is close by. Metro is a bit far bout 5 blocks away. Via de Cola is about 2 blocks away and so is supermarket standa. Colors is across the river from the center of Rome, but it's such a nice place you'll think about staying here for your Rome stay. If you're doing St Peters then stay here! Kitchen and balconies are well stocked and roomy. No lift and had 4 floors. One computer 1st floor with 30 Mon limit. 3 kitchens, all well equiped mark, from USA ~ 15th Jun 2009

failed to inform me that I was moved to another room for my third night until after the cleaning staff moved my stuff. most of the staffs were nice except one. He was an ass and was not accommodating. He would not even unlock the kitchen for me to grab water/juice from the fridge. and was only nice when female guest are present. did not like the kitchen hour, locked the kitchen at 10pm, most people return after 10pm and were not able to grab food/drinks from the fridge. location i dave, from USA ~ 3rd Jun 2009

The street outside was busy and loud. I didn't like that we couldn't lock our room. The computers for internet didn't barely work. There was only one shower on the first floor. However, the staff was nice and the hostel was clean and cute. The beds were very comfortable and it's in a very safe neighborhood. Amanda, from USA ~ 7th Jun 2009

Although it's very, very close to the Vatican, the hostel is a bit far from everything else. It takes ten minutes to get to the nearest subway station and it's complicated to get downtown (more because of the chaos that are the bus lines in Rome than the location itself, but still). As far as security goes, it's practically nonexistant. The reception works 24hs a day, but they let in everybody who buzzes and, get this!, they do not give you a key to your room if you are staying at a shared dorm Lucila, from Brazil ~ 12th Jan 2009

This was one of the nicest hostels I stayed at for the price. The decore was warm and inviting plus Colors' had a fullsized kitchen and a social atmosphere. A common room would be a nice addition, but I would definitely stay again. Emily, from USA ~ 12th Jan 2009
