Very helpful staff. Hotel car provided reliable pick-up from airport despite airline delay. Very good value for money. Adjacent to Thamel tourist district. Nice garden.Restaurant staff accommoadated us for early brwakfast.Recommended.

This place is a 1 minute walk from Thamel. It has a nice courtyard, great breakfast, friendly helpful staff, and the rooms are very comfortable for the price, even the budget ones. We were happy with the hotel so we went back when we returned to Kathmandu.

The hostel is a good bargin and its only about three minutes away from the main tourist area Thamel which is nice since you do not have the noise.We would stay there again

The staff were very helpful, the off-street setting with garden is nice, food was good and I really appreciated having a hot shower with decent water pressure! Excellent value. My only real quibble - the sheets were a bit marginal.

Sabin, your travel specialist, will help you arrange your great holidays in Nepal (bus transfers, hotels, car transfers etc.). The Encounter Nepal is the best hotel in Nepal! And my fauvorite!!! I had a fantastic time here. Everybody that works here was so friendly to me. The security guard salutes you upon entering. They always say "Namaste" which is a cordial welcome. The terrace is an eating area in front with flowers and plants, all surrounded by other buildings. There is only one entrance, which is locked at night. It's a really peaceful place to stay and right across the street from Thamel, where there are thousands of shops selling Mt. Everest posters, chess sets, 100% cashmere scarves, hand-tailored suits and much more.

Located at the edge of the Thamel tourist area, Hotel Encounter Nepal is about 10 minutes walk from the hub of activities and 25 minutes or so from the Kathmandu Durbar Square. Having said that, I love the hotel's location as there is less traffic noise and its cafe garden is cosy and comfortable. The staff are extremely friendly, courteous and helpful. I would definately stay here again.

The rooms from hostelworld are in the old building and its worth up-grading to the new. The rooms are lovely and big but in need of a lick of paint and revamp. The lack of hot water in the mornings is a bit annoying, otherwise nice place to stay with great trekking company attached (Himalayan Glacier).

The food was fantastic and inexpensive. The shower heads however, can be improved as they sprayed all over the bathroom. All the staff are courteous and friendly. They are helpful and they make one feel comfortable.
