This Hotel is right in the middle of the best tourist section of town. Walking distance to all that you want to see in the historic zona colona. The staff were very helpfull.

Is a nice place to stay and for the price it`s more than Ok, comparing with huge chain hotels there is nothing missing, talking about the basics. Regards. Emily

no A/C + no HOT water = no return business. Could not sleep half the night due to being too hot - room in a hallway, not much breeze either. Room was larger than average. IF had AC+HOT water would be a reasonable place. I'm cheap, but I'd spring for the $60 hotel to avoid that again.

I enjoyed EVERYTHING about about Hotel Freeman!!! They would arrange a taxi to or from the airport $7-10 US dollars cheaper than you could get ANYWHERE!!! They would also tell you inside information on GREAT events, locations of nightlife and sites (that are not in the guidebooks) and some of the most up-to-date information on traveling around the DR or Haiti (if you are so careful). Hotel Freeman is one place I would not book again. The best thing about the place is the cleanliness of the rooms, but when you factor in the trouble with water that was experienced,(you never knew when you would have water to shower with or even flush the toilet)and there were times there was no electricity at all or the tv would work, but not the AC. I expect to return in September to Santo Domingo, but not to the hotel Freeman.
