We have stayed in a lot of hostels and this was simply terrible in every respect. It is NOT like it shows in the photos - these are 10 years old. We actually left and cancelled our future nights here to move to a different hostel along the road. Unsafe, unclean and unfriendly staff did not make us feel at all welcome, and the rooms are awful.

This is false advertising!! The 'hotel' does not look anything like the pictures - it is just basic rooms upstairs in a run-down shopping complex - the taxi driver was even reluctant to leave me there. There is no garden, no plants, no pink outside wall. I had booked as a birthday treat and was very disappointed - I only stayed one night and gave up my other 2 nights' deposit.

Great hotel with brilliant staff. They were very helpful and informative, even managed to book Mt Kinabalu's hostel last minute. The hotel is located in the city, near to major attractions. Restaurants and supermarkets are within walking distance (Note: The hotel doesn't include breakfast). Most importantly, it has in-room wireless broadband access... Will stay again!

This place is located centrally but could do with a refurbishing exercise as the place is a little old. On the other hand, the staff here is superb. They could not do enough or try harder to make our stay a pleasant one.

The Hotel is old , but well situated , clean , good friendly staff.Is great value for money at just about 11gbp per night for a twin standard room. Air-con is old . KK is a place which is improving in terms of nice bars , places to eat both local and tourists , good shopping ,a great jump off spot for islands around and also to fix up adventure trips around Sabah. NEW AIR ASIA flight to Penang and to Manila , so can easily combine Peninsular Malaysia/Sabah and Manila cheaply.
