We spent three nights in Hotel Iida with one year old kid. Location was very good by the silent alley next to the Kyoto station. Warm common bath was nice, but warm water was unavailebale in japanese style room. Staff was helpful and spoke english.

Considering how much they charge I just recommend this place if you don't have another option in Kyoto. It was my case. The city was packed (New Year's Party) and I couldn't book a place in advance to stay there. They are full of rules and charge as good hotel.

I was surprised that the bed was Japanse-style. Fun and a good experience, but not so comfortable for me. Maybe it should be better described on the website? And in addition: sharing a bathroom to me means that there are shared facilities, but not that it is a Japanse bathroom, which you should share with others at the same time...

The fact that were NO showers - well a jolly communal thing was terrible!!! Some people do not wish to wash in front of all in sundry!! Also nothing available in the morning - only from 5pm - midnight!! 11pm curfew a pain as well. I would not stay at this place again or ever recommend it to anyone - we stayed in a number of HOSTELS better than this place and they were far cheaper!!! You need to make them advertise this lack of separate bathing facilities on their website - and also the fact that they charge another 750 yen to pay by credit card. Very disappointing place - you should remove it from your offering. Also they need to supply better directions to their place from Kyoto train station - that was bad too - they need a decent map.

Very well placed, close to the Kyoto Station. Hotel is not so fun, but you find there a clean japan style rooms with tatami ( tou sleep exetremely well on that!) The only obstacle is to be back at 11:00 pm at the hotel , while the night life in Kyoto is flourishing.
