Thin blanket, dirty bed, cold shower
After each and every departure, the bedding is changed with one blanket is provided. In the summer time we provide only one blanket. Our air conditioner is keeping the building cool as the temperatures have been in the triple digits for the past 3 months. We have 2 water heaters and they both work so I am suprised that someone experienced a cold shower.

The hostel was really dirty and smelly. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. The place is decrepit and needs major renovation. The office hours if you need to check in are only form 8-10 am or form 5-11 pm. If you happen to arrive between 10 and 5 there is nothing you can do. The price is high if you consider what you get in return. The only upside is that it is quite close to public transport. I would never return there nor suggest it to anyone.
Our office hours are set to 8 to 10am and 5 to 11pm daily to enable us to keep the cost of a bed low. In order to increase our office hours, our bed fee would need to be raised. Any guest arriving between 10am and 5pm are welcome to use our storage closet for thier luggage until check-in time. There are maps of the local area in the foyer for them to orient themselves and make the most of the day as we are located close to a lot of Houston's sites. ie: World Class Museums, beautiful Hermann Park with a Japanese Garden, stores and restaurants. Our hostel is housed in a 94 year old former rooming house and as such, repairs are being done regularly, such as the sheetrock work in progress while these guests were here.

Location is good. It's in walking distance of most museums and close to the metro line. It's also the only choice in Houston. The place has got that sort of old house slightly musty character that I'm kind of attracted to, but some people might not find it indearing.
