Users of this website, beware: Immediately after making my reservation, I was called and emailed several times by an individual who had no apparent connection to the hostel, persistently asking me about my travel plans. The hostel was okay, but had no running water and the heat was shut off sometime around 2 a.m. (I visited in January).

what can i say... one of the worst hostels i have ever stayed in... partly because the hostel that you book no longer exists, but they dont tell you that, so finding there "new" place isnear impossible... when we were there there was NO heating and it was FREEEZING, NO electric and NO hot water.... take my advice DO NOT BOOK THIS HOSTEL. (from a traveler on a year out who has stayed in many hostels)

Die Wegbeschreibung im Internet war absolut unzureichend! Wir haben ein Gebaeude gefunden, dass schon einige Jahre geschlossen hatte (es sah von aussen so aus!) und bis wir dem Besitzer am Telefon klar gemacht hatten, dass wir nicht wissen, wie wir dahin kommen sollen, war eine Stunde vergangen! The hostel looked run down, the rooms were not very clean and we had to insist to get a room with a western toilette! That is not what you expect from an international youth hostel!

It was not the HuangShan Hot Springs Youth Hostel, it was the other one in Tangkuo since the Hot Springs one was closed and the website did not tell me this.
This hostel is not at the hot springs and is not what is advertised. It has moved to another location in town.
Attention! The place doesn't work anymore! We got there and there wasn't a living soul in the place. Not only that we were charged in advance for nothing (that's the only thing that still works in that place, I guess), but we also had to stay in a very expensive hotel.
