“ Great place. Stayed with my boyfriend who had never been to a hostel before, and we both liked it. We had a private room, and it was clean enough, and we felt safe! I only gave it 4 for location as we were in a different building down the street that was about 1200 meters from the main hostel, and it rained all week., but for the price and standard of the accommodation we definitely can't complain! ”

“ The pillows being a thin slip of fabric in plastic were rubbish. You need new pool cues and my room (the loop) right next to the common room was like a furnace at night with a constant hum coming through the pipes. Maybe turn the heating down in this room a bit earlier than the approx midnight that it went off... Other than that I had a great time and the hostel overall was amazing - perfect location, good crowd, great facilities and would stay here again anytime! ”

“ I really liked the staff. They were very open to questions and patient with my moments of occasional dumbness. The hostel itself is in a great location. However, the walls are a little thin and it can be a bit on the loud side. Slightly better enforcement of quiet hours would have been nice, but I'll take it. The location is very convenient to both neighborhoods and downtown. ”

“ The IHSP Chicago Hostel (at Damen CTA, Chicago, USA) is centrally located. The reception desk staff are very friendly & helping in nature. One can get any required information (travel / tourism related or otherwise), without any delay. I have stayed in hotels with dormitory in Stockholm in Sweden & London in the UK during previously. I found the IHSP Chicago Hostel best in all respects than those in Stockholm & London. I found everything in order & to satisfaction, without any confusion. ”

“ I didn't intend on booking a room at this hostel when I came to chicago. The other hostel that I have stayed at before was completely booked so I decided to book a room with IHSP. This hostel was very comfortable, homey. The staff was just beyond excellent. After having a rough afternoon, the girl at the front desk gave me a free drink coupon to David's Tea. I love tea! I was in heaven! Pancake flavored waffles was the highlight. It's not a 4 star hotel, but it's a home away from home! For real! ”

“ Staffs are good. I stayed in the 4 private room. The privates rooms are not in the main IHSP building, there is a separate building for the private rooms. You should walk about 5 minutes. The facilities are quite good. One thing I am not good is taking a shower. Warm water is not provided, it was cold or hot. The hostel provided free pancakes for breakfast, but we had to go to the main building. Cuz i am a lazy person, i only ate one breakfast. Overall it was good. I would like to recommend. ”

“ I like the place chiefly for the location. It's near to transportation, supermarket, bars, pharmacy, etc., and it's fairly clean though it depends on the season. The staff is polite, not more not less.The downside is that it's too much noisy. So, if you're looking for a quiet spot this definitely not a good choice. ”

“ My 4 friends and I booked a room in this hostel February, 16 to 18. The staff was so welcoming, kind and funny! The hostel is a very good place, near to the subway, some stores and restaurants. We were lucky to have a room with our own rooftop. All was clean in the room and the bathroom. We met a lot of people all over the world and spent a very great time. Thanks for everything!!! ”

“ We stayed at this Hostel for a weekend and were a little wary at first. Once we arrived, all of our hesitations were gone. The staff was friendly, the rooms and bathrooms were clean. If you stay for long periods of time-- you can use the fridge to store food and save money. I loved the atmosphere and enjoyed the free breakfast. It is just a short subway ride to downtown and they store your luggage until midnight the day you check out for free. I definitely will be staying again! ”

“ I traveled the cities along the east coast for 20 days and stayed several hostels. This hostel was the best of all of them. Location, it's only 1 min away from a subway station by walk and it takes 15 min to city center. Staffs, so kind and nice. Bathrooms and shower rooms are enough to use and I could get towels as many as I wanted. Pancakes for breakfast were cool too. Anyway it's awesome. Don't have to hesitate to choose it. ”

“ We enjoyed our stay, thought the location and surrounding area great. Its very close to the metro, which is great! We had a double bed with shared bathroom. Our room was basic but clean,the showers, were a different story. There were 4 showers in total two were with a toilet and were fine, but there were two that were makeshift made with drywall and 2x3 posts and you could see through the crack of the shower,and it was very cramped. There's pancakes in the morning that are great. Overall great. ”
