A really fun, bohemian kind of place. OK cleanliness, come and go, freewheeling atmosphere. A few miles from downtown, but streetcar runs right outside, straight down Canal St to French Quarter.

It had everything I needed-- sleep, cookery, friendly staff, interesting people-- for a cheap price! I recommend this to adventurous travelers in search of a funky place to visit a funky city. awesome.

TV, wifi, fridge, parking on street, baths & beds are good. Kitties have fleas, AC which runs 24/7 was making my sinuses purge.

some staffs are not really helpful, giving only "very" brief tour at your 1st day, then letting you find out on your own. (i.e. I figured out there's a "commune" shelf in the frige only after i lost my juice twice...and other visitors seems to not know, either) However, some staffs are really helpful, and you can meet some interesting people here - both local and visiting. I would say "quality assurance" is its major problem...

This was an awesome place to stay. It is convenient for public transport [street cars] as well as a cheap arrival from the airport [local bus for $1.10 and a 12 minute walk]. The people working there are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Likewise, it is a great place to hang out and meet people from all over. Best hostel I've stayed at in the USA.
