The hostel was potentially good, but bathrooms were filthy and it was too loud because our room was next to a room with six beds.

Hostel is a thirty minute walk into town, beds are pretty much dreadful, bring your own curtains if you wish to sleep beyond sunrise. Anything else; towels are face-cloths, toilet roll was never replaced and there was no evidence of any cleaning - ever! Other than that, great!

This hostel felt more like a soul-less hotel and did not have any atmosphere, but even so, I did manage to meet some interesting people there. Also, the showers only worked certain times of the day. PS. This review was written 3 years after I stayed so things may have changed.

we didnt get the booked room together in our group... one of us had to check into a room where 2 guys were still staying while they were away. staff just put their things into a closet and told him to stay here until the other ones would arrive... poor bathrooms.. :( staff was friendly but the hostel itself is a bit \"adventurous\" like kiev itself..;)

We wanted to take a nap when we came in from the exhausting train ride from Moscow. They didn't have any linens available until after dinner. Also, the heat was turned off until we got there so it was freezing. so we put on all our clothes and our coats and took a nap on the nasty mattress. When we finally did get the sheets, they were so thin that my pillow case ripped as i was putting it on, and the sheet had a blood stain on it. Basically, stay anywhere other than this place. We would have, but we waited too long to book and everywhere else was filled up.

Kiev is a beautiful city with an incredible atmosphere and nice people but unfortunately this hostel is not comparable to the city... The location is quite ok if, like me, you like walking in the city but not the best because you have to go 30 min by foot to reach the city center and 15min in the other direction to reach the nearest metro station. The staff hardly speaks English and there' s no internet access(even if announced in the website), no kitchen, no common room with television. I was very disappointed when I compared the hostel with its internet description (and the Warsaw hostels for instance). At the end, I think that it is expensive for this low quality level because in fact you just pay for an old room with old beds, old bed linen and an old hand towel. Moreover there is no atmosphere there because the staff (1 person)do not communicate (even to greet you)and you don' t have the opportunity to meet other people because of the lack of a common room. Summary : There is no life in this hostel and your stop there will be limited at your old room.
