Nobody spoke English, but paying and getting the keys was OK. Was hard to find - is opposite of the fire station on a sportsfield.

I am very dissatisfied: My original booking (at Olympic) was cancelled due to works. I was booked at Kiev Hostel at the same price but not in the same conditions as in Olympic: without private bathroom and with two beds instead of a double bed. Furhthermore, the rooms were cold and the bathroom water was cold or, at best tepid.

Very bad location, right at the end of the red line and across the river. was told that it would be sign posted when you got out of the station - it wasn't. Very inflexible with arrival times, the reception staff were rude and unhelpful, especially one man. not english speaking - as i was told. In fact I speak Russian and that wasn't even appreciated, I think this hostel should be advertised for Ukrainians only, they were the only guests and staff also. i was not told about any of the other facilites that the hostel had i.e- sauna, restaurant etc. i was just bearly showed my room. rooms smelt of smoke. and i have my suspicions that some of the rooms were used by prostitutes, I didnt want to spend my weekend holiday away in a brothel. I was very unsatisfied.

Located in an outer suburb of Kiev BUT at the same time is very close to Metro & public transport (which run very frequently and cheaply) and taxis making the city very easily accessible. Very close to markets. This makes for an economical stay in Kiev. The private room with bath & toilet I had was good value but no kitchen facilities. I felt safe and it was adequate for my needs and budget. No English speaking staff.

music rehearsals nightly from 8 pm to 10 pm are a nuisance for guests!

This place is convenient to the metro station and is reasonably priced. No English spoken here. I had to forfeit two nights of a three night booking because my plans unexpectedly changed. I speak Russian and when I asked if there was any chance of refund, the surly desk attendant said he had no money and I had to get a refund from hostel world. There is no customer service with the desk staff. The cleaning staff was friendly. If there is an option to stay somewhere else, do it.

Do print the instructions on how to find the property. And bring your russian/ukrainian phrasebook! There is a running track, soccer field and four tennis courts within 50m. Only 10 minutes away there is a forest with orienteering maps.
