J-Hoppers Kyoto was my first hostel experience and it was the most fun! The lounge was always hoppin\' with a half dozen languages flowin around. The staff all speak great English and it\'s only about 8 min. from Kyoto Station. It can be a bit tricky to find because it\'s so skinny but not too bad. Though the hostel itself isn\'t very impressive, the staff, price, and the awesome lounge atmosphere make J-Hopper\'s the coolest place to stay in Kyoto.

Very clean place to stay in Kyoto. Location is good when you arrive from the train station, but its a little far from downtown.
Great place to stay if you want to backpack around Kyoto. Very close to Kyoto station and easy access to bus and walking. Highly recommend!

Loved it!
Clean, well run, front desk was helpful. common room is rather small and basic but still got everything. Only thing could improve on is social atmosphere but thats more up to guests than the place. Good value.
This was a really nice place to stay, Staff were really helpful and made some really good tourist suggestions for Kyoto. Clean and good location near the station and Kujo subway line
