- “ The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. I was given maps and bus routes which were very useful for my whole time spend in Kyoto. The staff also did a good job with having lots of events organised in the hostel and helping to bring everyone together. ”

- “ The hostel is in a narrow building with most of the rooms on the upper floors; however, they do not yet have an elevator installed, so it would be somewhat difficult for those with several very heavy bags. It offers easy access to Kyoto's various modes of transportation. ”

- “ I came to Kyoto 3 times and stayed in 4 different places. Among 4 hostels that ı stayed in Kyoto J Hoppers has the oldest facilities and it has started to show its age. It is a decent enough hostel but seriously you may find other better hostels nearby which are the same price but a bit cleaner and with better facilities. ”

- “ All you could want - good kitchen/fridge facilities, free internet, clean showers/toilets. Nice, welcoming staff. Rooms small but functional. Some distance from many sights, but this would be the case anywhere in Kyoto if you enjoy walking, downtown/Gion is only 25 min away. Two convenient stores "next door". Hostel with nice "japanese" atmosphere. Highly recommended! ”

- “ Great place, close to the station but a bit far from the center of town. But fret not, the bus stop is really near. Large dorms, good beds and lots of lockers to borrow. Clean and well maintained, Great staff that will really help you get out and about. Really recommended. ”

- “ The staff was welcoming and pleasant. They all spoke English well. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean. I liked that there are two places for travelers to hang out and meet each other. I would stay here again. ”

- “ This place was very nice. the location was pretty close to the Kyoto JR Station so it made things easy. the facilities were pretty clean, and the beds were pretty spacious. the only bust was that we were on the 5th floor, and it was pretty hot up there. There also was not an elevator so if you can't carry your luggage up some stairs, might be tough. Staff was helpful and could give you some basic directions, their english was also pretty good. ”
