There have been many upgrades to this hostel since I last stayed there in October 2008. New sinks and showers and fresh paint! The gameroom is also open again. The only bad things about this hostel are the breakfast - just a cold bagel with butter/grape jam and the location is a bit far from Midtown, but it's in a safe area and you can catch the C Train just 3 blocks away. The front desk staff are great! Also, don't be afraid to stay in a 12 bed dorm! There's plenty of space and lockers and AC!

Great location. Breakfast stops at 9am... it s too early. We got beds in the other bulding. Over there the security is not very good. Nobody is there. Some guests made a lot of noise during 2 hours in the middle of the night. There is no staff crew in the other building to stop them. The staff are ok. There are not really friendly (especialy the guy) but there are ok.

I stayed their 2 nights in a 12 bed dorm and 1 night in a 6 bed dorm. The location was great, the subway was just 3 blocks away and their was also a bus station right in front of the hostel. The staff were really nice. The room size were ok. The 12 Bed room was a bit stuffed but ok. In both rooms were no closets, you have to put your luggage under your bed. Breakfast is 1 Bagel and 1 Cup Coffee or tea. But for the price its really good. The one shower door was not closing. result good hostel.

It was unfortunate that the cafe had been closed down by the city. Once that issue is fixed, it's a convenient place to sleep.

Jazz on the Park had been a welcome stop for us in New York. Pricing was an initial issue as we were told our total approached that of staying at the Ritz Hotel. After some explaining, the staff appropriately adjusted our bill to the agreed upon amount, but this should have never happened. The general set-up of the hostel was what you would expect it to be. The kitchen had been closed by the city so hopefully that shall be resolved soon. There is a seperate staff which cleans and does a

It was soooooo damn loud we could not sleep the whole night. Our room was next to the restroom where the door was damaged. Because of this everybody who went to the restroom had to slam the door...not very nice! Bed was not comfortable at all. "Breakfast included" means one cup of Instant Coffee and one Bagel with jelly (if you want Cream Cheese you have to pay extra...). Never again!
