  • Make sure to write to the guest that 3pm is the check in time because on www.hostels.com, we are asked to state our check or arrival time ourselves. This is confusing.

  • No comments. If you have nothing good to say it's better shut up.

  • This place sucked. The price was far to high compared with the comfort received. The place was worn down, very noisy, and in general quite unpleasant.

  • I was satisfied with my stay. Excellent location within walking distance of Museum of Nat History. Broadway 5 minute walk.

  • One receptionist in particular was very rude, condescending and unhelpful (the large african-american woman). Even though it was snowing outside, the room was unbearably hot, and there was no way to turn down the temperature. I had to move my mattress onto the floor where it wasn't as hot as on the top bunk. The mattress was of poor quality, even for a hostel. I have stayed in lots of backpackers hostels over the last four years, and this was by far the worst.

  • Some very non understanding staff members. Very very uncomfortable beds. Unhygenic and very few toilets with rough and scratchy toilet papers and shower stalls are not user friendly. The place is not disabled friendly; it didn't have any elevators. The hostels does not have any source of drinking water. The light switch was far from the bunk bed. Luggage lockers in room were too small for even the smallest standard suitcase. There was no receipt for post check out luggage hold ($4 per luggage).

  • Because i deem that it's a place where we can meet nice people. People are friendly and it's affordable. It's culturally rich and interesting. It's easy from the hotel to get to places like Manhattan, Harlem, central Park, etc. And with the staff we can visit good night places where we can have good music, have fun in a safe and convenient resorts.

  • I really didn't enjoy this hostel. Was the 3rd I went to in NY (tried out different places before I booked a longer stay in 1 of them) and this place rated very poorly (others - NY Moore hostel & Q4). Even by itself, the staff couldn't have been more UNhelpful if they tried, the aircon in my 2b.f. rm made noises all night, even when unplugged! Only wifi available in the 'common room' which is just tables crammed in a small room - dead atmosphere, and they try getting $ anyway they can! Poor form

  • For more than $50 per day (that's what you pay with all fees) you can find a better place to stay in NYC. Jail-like chambers, poor facilities, and, if you are lucky enough to get a room with windows facing the courtyard, it's also noise from the numerous bathroom fans. Make sure you have some earplugs if you choose this hostel.

  • I enjoyed my stay at Jazz on the park very much. The location was excellent, a half a block from the park and 1 street from subway station. The room was nice, very cozy and had a very comfortable bed. The bathroom does need repairs, the toilet has a tricky nob and it was difficult to flush. I though it has a good atmosphere, we were invited to good parties and events, people were friendly and we met new people. Employees were very friendly and helpful but they do need to improve security.

  • This was the first hostel I've stayed in. I'd read numerous reviews on this site before deciding to stay and I must say I don't understand why the bad reviews are so bad. I called when I arrived in town to let them know I was coming and they were very helpful - even letting us drop our bags in them earlier than check-in time. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and the hostel was as quiet as most hotels I've stayed in. I would definitely stay in the Jazz again.

  • Both days we were there the housekeeping staff came into our room unannounced (no knock) which was very awkward. I complained to the check-in staff and nothing was done about it. Also the kitchen facilities were shut down and the internet that I purchased for the room was supposed to be $2.99 for 24 hours...come to find out, I get home to see my credit card bill showing a $29.00 charge! The place is all right but don't expect too much besides a place to sleep that is close to centralpark

  • A very good location towards Central park; Manhattan hostels stay very expensive and the ratio service / price is lower than any other city of USA
