There was a problem with mice and not enough bathrooms if the dorms are full (only one per room) but otherwise a good stay in a good area. Vanessa, from Australia ~ 20th Nov 2009

Very good overall. Only downside was that my room was next to a very busy street. I brought earplugs, and so it worked out so-so as my earplugs were not the best.

Great, inexpensive stay. Only complaint is the appearance of lax security of the locked storage.

While visiting my sister in the Village I stayed at this hostel. Friendly staff, clean, not too loud, and good amenities. Narrow stairs and no ac but definitely a good value.

It's not the Ritz. It's a hostel. And as a hostel, I couldn't recommend any other in NYC than this one. It's the best there. I've stayed at quite a few of them there. None are as conveniently located or as well run as this one. My favorite thing is when I come back from my day of running around and find my bed has been made. I always meet cool people here too. Of course the L train to Williamsburg, Brooklyn is right there too. Most Excellent! Keep up the Great Work!

Its a shame that the jazz hostel with the best location in nyc falls down in all other areas. There is no kitchen- not even an area to get water. The common area is small and grubby. The staff are incredibly rude and unhelpful!

The mix room was not bad at all. people were nice. Location is really good: subway, stores, bars... I liked this place and the price. The hall is small: there are only 2 sofas (coaches). There is one frige for everybody and a microwave. There are 2 computers. If u want to use it, u should pay some money...The wireless is free. ))) it's good. I could use my laptop.

The staff were not friendly at all, the first thing they asked for was money and then explaining the things for which I am going to be fined. There is also a hidden cost of 5$ for leaving luggage at the luggage room after check out...compared to other hostels I have been to this has been the worst , only good thing about it was the location
