Excellent receptist when I arrived, then wasn t there anymore...Too many cockroaches. Lack of toilet paper. Kitchen disgusting. Just looks good, first look, but not good at all... Try it and you will see.

This is a very good place to stay on a budget. Its hard to believe some of the more negative reviews about this place. It sure ain't the Ritz, but it's more like living in a dorm, with friendly and helpful staff. The low-key aspect of it is nice, as one neighbor we talked to didn't even know the place was a hostel. The surrounding neighborhood seems unsafe, but being from Philadelphia, the people that I thought would be trouble seemed nice and friendly enough. I would recommend playing it safe at all times though. It's a nice walkable distance from the French Quarter and I would definitely stay there again. Thank You Joe & Flo and Staff

it is not walk distance from the best part of french quarter
It was pretty nice place. I ended up with my own room because they couldn't pick me up from the airport, which was great! Nice of them to have a service to and from airport (a lot cheaper that way)! They were nice and helpful. Located a few blocks away from the French Quarter, not not a long walk. Pretty quiet as well, but I didn't really want to socalize that much, so I was ok with it.

It was an affordable place to stay close to the French Quarter and Frenchmen Street. The only downsides, (i) neighborhood is kinda dangerous, (ii) my room's door didn't lock very well, (iii) bathroom is not exactly the cleanest I ever stayed in my life.

while in the heart of Treme - it was a pleasent stay - Sharelle was a big help at the desk and around the place. THe best way to the quarter is to walk down to Esplanade and take it all the way...enjoy ur stay. Remember it is a hostel.

I enjoyed my stay, but the place is not really a hostel, no one is ever in the common room, there are no activities (even though Nola does not need that...)or moments when the guests get together. The staff is helpful when they are there, but i was supposed to be picked up at the bus station and no one showed up, I had to get a lift from another passenger from the bus.
great location! super central. neiborhood might be a bit hairy for you posh types, but for us common folk it should be just fine! super friendly helpful staff. im thankful for the free internet and ample parking right in front.
fair price. rooms not very clean, near to the french quarter but not very nice 4 blocks away. don´t reserve at hostel247.com , they stole my money!
Give Joe and Flo's a chance. It's a good way to stay cheaply in an expensive city, a city that should be experienced by everyone, tremendous heart and soul. Jerome was helpful during a busy weekend at Jazzfest, which was awesome by the way.
