- “ - Good overall value, especially since we were there for JazzFest. If you don't have a car, you might need cab fare at night. The hostel is in the Treme and several locals had negative comments about the area, which does feel abandoned at night. In the day it's fine. The hostel is two blocks off a major street that's busy at night, and a quick walk to the French Quarter. Facilities get the job done, but the "private double" is a bed and a cot, and the bathroom is shared with the whole building. ”

- “ The place could have been kept up a bit more tidy. The staff members on duty were very nice & friendly so I didn't mind about the living condition. Thank you for providing wi-fi connection it was very useful for me. I have put security as avg. b/c sometimes I would see the door was not locked at night probably some guest didn't know how to lock it on their way out. ”

- “ On the last night the AC was not working. It was really cold. In the hostel.com website they anounced a free parking but the parking is on the street (they do not offer a private parking). I did not have a small breakfast that I am supposed to have ”

- “ The location is unbeatable. I've walked to the French Quarter in the day without any issues. The setup is great and the staff is very friendly. You get what you pay for: a simple bed with sheets and a really thin blanket, which didn't work well in the cold. On my last night I found many bed bugs. I know it's hard to get rid of these pests, but washing the last guest's blankets and sheets in the drier when they leave would help. The attention to cleanliness could be improved. Check for bed bugs! ”

- “ Really nice staff after you get to know them! The neighbourhood is shady, but it is close to both frenchman street and bourbon street (french quarter) I would recommend to take a cab home if you go out at night. The rooms are all you need but the whole place could do with a makeover. A bit hard to find, there is no proper sign. ”

- “ This place is absolutely amazing. You cannot get cheaper or closer to the French Quarter. The room was perfect for what I needed, which was a place to stumble back to and fall asleep comfortably and safely. I read the reviews and know about a person's incessant need to complain about the slightest things, but was also worried about the prospect of bed bugs. I brought my own bedding and put it over theirs and never saw a single bug in the entire place. NO BED BUGS! CHEAP! AWESOME! GO! ”

- “ We arrived on Saturday morning at 1am, however had booked the Friday night accommodation and indicated that we would be getting in late that night. Noone was at reception to meet us, we called them they were 20 minutes away (and went to the other property first), and the check-in process was inefficient. We stayed in Room 6 which has an adjoining bathroom that is shared with a dorm. That first day that we went to explore the city, we came back and found the door to our room open. Nothing taken. ”

- “ The bedroom temperature was way too hot. It must have been above 80 the second night I was there. ”

- “ Great & cheap place in short notice, DEFINITELY no bed bug (sheets are changed/washed after I left), rooms have AC. The staffs are very nice. Noise from hallway, opening door by arriving guest, and sound from other sleeping guys (bed's wood) wake me up many times, but that's normal on a dorm. 1 bathroom shower needs reparation, but the others are fine. Not too far from French Quarter, but not that close either, safe neighborhood. Lockers are small & not so many, but it's safe to put in our room. ”

- “ Very friendly place to stay! Rooms are small but very nice and the stuff ist very friendly and very helpful. I got ill and needed a doctor and they organized me a doctor and a cheap cab to get treatment. It is an old house in the typical new orleans style but they keep it clean and nice! Can recommend this place! ”

- “ Cheap cab ride from the french quarters, a bit far for walking after a couple drinks. ”

- “ Staff was super accommodating and very friendly. Learn from my mistake: 24/7 security does not mean 24/7 desk, so be careful and call ahead if you have a late flight in to NOLA. Location was safe and very convenient to French Quarter. I would have loved to stay, but unfortunately there was one bed bug in the first bed I was checked into, so they moved me, but in the morning the girl below me had a bed bug on her arm, so I decided to leave, but the staff was understanding and my money refunded. ”

- “ We found bedbugs in our bed. The beds were uncomfortable. We wanted to stay 3 nights, but after we found out, that there are bedbugs we cancelled the reservation for the following two nights. But we want to say, that the neighbourhood is safe and the staff is very friendly. The location is very close to the French quarter which is very good. We had no problems with cancelling of the reservation. ”

- “ I got bed bugs! Had to wash everything and missed a lot work and other things I hoped to do that day because of it. Everyone was friendly, though im a little disappointed that they kept me in the room after other people complained and left because of it. They were working on the place until 1:30am one night. I'm talking about saws and hammers. ”

- “ We had a great stay in the Treme. Neil was very helpful in recommending places to go and eat. Neighborhood was well-lit and felt perfectly safe. A 10 minute walk put us on Frenchman Street and 5 minutes to Kermit's Treme Speakeasy. Large and comfortable room. ”

- “ This is one of the most friendly and adorable hostels we ever did see. Too bad it gave us the worst case of bed bugs on this side of the Mississippi =[ ”
