I dont understand those who book a hostel which name is FAMILY hostel and then complain because of the kids... hihi this hostel is nice, clean, and the reception was EMPTY. Of course if you arrive on august 15th, at 12.00pm dont expect everything to be so fast. Some Peolpe expect their own mummies to run the reception... come on... my only complain is that there was a group of disabled kids that were sleeping in my same room. The hostel is a nice place for young travellers. Though it is not near to the train station, it is quite near to the sight seeing places. Rooms are clean and breakfast is really good. Moreover, its price is quite cheap if you booked in advance. Recomand it to travellers in Salzburg! Lihua, from China ~ 17th Sep 2009

The staff was rude at times and completly unhelpful. The room i stayed in was completly littered with grafitti. the bathrooms were ok but there was no reasonable place to change. Also they played sound of music EVERY NIGHT!!!!!! So annoying Rebecca, from USA ~ 10th Sep 2009

Pros: Nice rooms, very clean throughout the building, good pizza for late at night, OK location to old-town Cons: Only 1 laundry machine that took 2 hours to NOT dry my clothes, need a pool table or something in the main lobby to get people to mingle better Conclusion: I'd stay there again. i supposed the location of the hostel was good, but there was a construction at the junction, and they closed the main junction (the only road on map)to turn in. i had been looking for this hotel for more than 1 hr. it wasn't pleasant. hopefully the website could update about it. or the construction could be finished soon.
