I liked to stay in YHA Waitomo Cave. Small swimming pool was great. Also we enjoyed trampolin riding and looking at the night sky on the trampolin.. Beautiful stars.. We could feel real NZ seeing farm animals near the hostel.. We had a great stay.(Hope the kitchen had more utensils^^) Sun-young, from South Korea ~ 19th Jan 2012

This is a beautiful little hostel, located on a farm, where you'll be chased around by a very happy lamb called Lucy. The staff were great, the guests were great, the hostel itself was one of the nicest I've stayed in in NZ. It's just out of the village (1.5km away), but is directly opposite the Black Water Rafting company. Which is awesome. Make sure you take some food with you as Waitomo has very little in the way of shopping. James, from England ~ 30th Oct 2011

Due to lack of entertainment in town, it can get a little loud in the hostel from all the activity going on, which is fine, but just be aware that the noise travels in the hall. :) Staff is very friendly and helpful. :) Nicole, from Canada ~ 7th Oct 2011

Hostel is perfect location for the Black Water Rafting company, not the most ideal walk home at night from town but its only ten minutes. Hostel was extremely clean and had a good relaxed vibe to the place. Kevin, from Australia ~ 5th Oct 2011

It's a small walk (felt like 1km) from the i-site, but not far enough away to be really inconvenient. It's the only hostel in town, but does a pretty good job. Tim, from Germany ~ 7th Jun 2011
