The location of this hostel is fabulous if you're leaving Tokyo early in the morning and need to get to the airport quickly via Ueno Keisei station. Ginza line Asakusa subway station is only one minute walk away and it takes five minutes to get to Ueno station, which is next to Keisei station. The hostel itself is a bit shabby and the dorm is best suited for short-term stays. I couldn't for example sit upright in the upper berth. Cheapness and location are the best assets of this place. Because we are americans and our height doesn't not equal that of Japanese it was difficult going up the stairs and moving within the building. For some reason when we took a shower the shower smelledbad afterwards like a sewer leak. If you just need a place to store your luggage make you sure you pack light because small storage space or if you rent a private room that might be better. In all just a place to put your stuff and sleep while you tour Japan its an averave place at best. Not for Byron, from Japan ~ 15th Dec 2011

Great place...great location to see Tokyo. Only issue- I have a bad knee and there are quite a few narrow steep stairs to climb. Usually not a problem but after a month of trekking in the Phillipines and Thailand...I could hardly handle the stairs. If your knees are fine- this is a great place in Tokyo! Was a good guest house. Only complaint is the common areas are a little too small for the amount of guests. I don't expect a lot of room in a guest house however the kitchen could only accommodate a few people at a time before moving became impossible. Security was very good with key code, cameras and secure locks as well as staff on premises until midnight. Staff was very helpful and friendly and lots of touring info was available.Very clean and the showers were hot. Great location and views.

Located a minute away from the Asakusa train station (Ginza Line). Other lines pretty close as well. Getting to/from the airport was really easy. You can go and party in Shibuya and take the train back without having to worry about changing lines. The staff was very helpful. Shared bathrooms were clean. There are a lot of cheap food options around. The basement of the Matsuya Dept. Store (about 2 mins away) has a large selection of foods - plus a lot of free sampling :)
