The staff are awesome! The girl at the reception rang and ordered me a pizza delivery, organised my laundry to be done, always had a smile on her face and were generally excellent. , internet access was plentiful, and the atmosphere was very friendly. Only downside? There is 2 flights of stairs you have to climb to get to the reception - and there is no lift. DAVE, from England ~ 17th Nov 2009

This hostel turned out to be a great place to find other things to do in Kiev. We went AK-47 shooting at an old soviet base- it was arranged by the hostel. The place is spacious, has a big kitchen- free washer/dryer, nice ambiance. It's locked 24/7, lights out at midnight (it's quiet at night) but no curfew on when you can enter. This place is in a great location, but the bathroom was kinda gross (really need to change that shower curtain), and there are no lockers at all, which would be a good addition. Met some cool people though, and the common space/kitchen is great, as well as cable tv which you don't see in a lot of hostels in Ukraine. Amy, from Canada ~ 27th Oct 2009

This is the perfect hostel when visiting Kyiv: it has a great location, friendly staff, all of the basics (internet, TV, kitchen, etc) and best of all a wonderful proprietor. Robert will greet you with a smile and a shot upon arrival. I stayed nearly a weeek and could stay for another, continuing to have a great time. Great locations near the Independence sq and Kreschatik Street (the main street of the city) .When I booked the staff provided by mail a map with clear directions. Beds are comfy; surrounding area is nice, with lots of shops (flashy or cheap) and a great restaurant/coffee shop in the same building. The hostel has a free high speed wi-fi / internet connection and also runs some tours to Chernobyl and AK47 shooting and tank driving!
