KoTo Hostel in Knysna, Vietnam

I gave 10 points for Halong bay 2days trip, spent amazing night on the Dragon Pearl boat and one thing you should improve it isthe pillow in the room which was a little bit flat. Michele, from England ~ 11th Mar 2012

The friendly staff over there make your stay more pleasant and comfortable and worth for the every penny you spent. Very close to the Rly station and walkable distance to many shopping areas and important places. Very freindly staff and informative and helpful in everyway one expects. I became a single room for the same price from a dormbed. But they works evrey day in the other room and after 09.00 AM was so loud. the room was a bit mold and a little bit stinky. for two nights and this price was it ok. wifi works in the room! the personal was very fiendly and helpfull. Really great hostel. The staff are super helpful. They helped arrange our Halong Bay trip (3 days, 2 nites) for a reasonable price. Rooms are clean, bathroom quite basic but clean none the less. Stay here when in Hanoi for an enjoyable experience. Euan, from Scotland ~ 6th Aug 2011

Hostel or travel agency ? The room was very nice, clean, you have internet, the breakfast is very good !! I would highly recommand but 1 the welcome seems to be fake 2 every time you have propositions (bus ticket, halong bay ...). The bus ticket for Vientiane is sold 57$ (we found 26$ in hanoi) and they proposed me to cancel my halong bay tour 4-5 times just to book with them. Very annoying for holidays !! KoTo is very conveniently located and the staff were wonderful - very helpful and friendly. Although the room was not as advertised at all (single rooms do NOT have bathtubs or some of the other amenities and the description should read "all rooms have a balcony OR window, but probably not a balcony") the room was very nice and overall the stay was good. I booked a day trip to the perfume pagoda and to Halong Bay through the hotel and both surpassed expectations and were great. Would stay again! Gillian, from Canada ~ 28th Jul 2011

In sum the stay in KoTo Hostel was ok.The staff was friendly and helpful although they sometimes did not understand us.But there are two things worth stressing:1.The receptionist asked us to take a room at Bodega Hostel because the room we booked on the internet was allegedly full or did not exist.After some discussion we got the bigger one for the same price.2.The one-day tour to Ha Long Bay was too expensive for what we got (30 Dollar),but the efforts of the staff to help us complain was poor.
