Super clean, beautiful rooms. Way out though, so expect many cab rides if you expect a night life. Staff was nice; overall a quiet, clean hostel. Think opposite of Mingtown. Also, near M50 if you like the artsy stuff (I do).

Although the hostel is not right downtown, it is just minutes away from the metro Zhenping Station. The neighbourhood around the hostel is great. You will love the streetfood vendors nearby.

We had our very best nights in Shanghai and Suzhou at Koala! Thank you very much for cozy and peaceful environment!

It was just walk away from the metro which was good although taxi's are frequent and cheap. The rooms where amazing and the staff would clean at most times of the day when you get up. Thanks!

Lush place to stay. It's x10 better than most hotels. The power shower is amazing.

The only complaint I have is that the internet connection in the rooms is so slow that I had to go and use the computer in the foyer. It is useless most of the time. But, the staff were excellent and friendly and helpful in every way.

This is the 'W Hotel' of Hostels. Sleek design, good air conditioning, private bathrooms (with toilet paper and clean towels!!!) and a high level of cleanliness makes for a great stay. Great friendly staff here too, and they speak English well. The location is kind of far out. You'll want to take a cab or the Metro (closes kind of early) to get around to the sights. That said, cheaper food is available in this area since it's less commercial. There's no common area, so the "fun" level is lower. But really, who cares? One travels to a city to see the city, not to hang out in the hostel's common room. I would definitely stay here again!

I thought the room was very comfortable and I especially appreciated the attention to the interior design elements - very well done. I'll recommend your place to anyone I know who plans to travel to Shanghai. Thanks!
