This place is like a terror movie hostel, with a strange man that rarelly speak something. When you make a question to him, he answer five minutes later. Is like a hang computer, but without the "reset button". He only understand Japanese. For me and my grilfriend, he is terrifying. All the days, in the hostel don't have anybody to control the door... somebody can enter to hostel, get the room's keys, tief all the money... is a ganster paradise.

It's pretty crappy, but you get used to it.

The only thing good about this hotel is its location near Kyoto Station. The man who works the front desk speaks no English and does not communicate well in Japanese, either. He had to call an English speaking man who worked at the nearby White Hotel (owned by the same people by run by different standards) to come help him check us in. The young man asked me to forgive the older man because he was "crazy." The rooms were decent sized, traditional spaces, but smelled like sewage. The toilet is next to the crazy man`s desk; the showers were on par with dorm showers at a college in terms of cleanliness. We ended up checking out after one night and staying at the White Hotel instead - which, while far from a star-rated establishment, was a huge step up from the Eki-mae White House.

Its a clean place and close to the station, ist okay, but if you don't mind paying 1000 yen-1500 yen (6-9 Euro) more, you get better accommodations with a much higher standard. In the end the room was okay, but there was a construction site behind the house and our room had just a window at the ceiling, so we felt a bit like in a bunker.
