“ The best hostel I have stayed in ! A great location and a great atmosphere in the hostel. It is a very charming place with friendly staff. I stayed in a private room which was worth the money for the privacy and the view (onto St-Paul's street). The only thing that could be a negative (but wasn't for me) is the fact that there is not always staff at the hostel like we see in many other hostels. ”

“ Simply delightful. Conveniently located in the beautiful Old Port area, it was well-maintained, had a very friendly atmosphere, and very manageable price. The staff cleaned every day; we had access to laundry facilities when they were free; there was a lounge room with computers as well as musical instruments set up; and we generally just had a good time while we were there. There is a big dorm style room with relative privacy, or smaller more private rooms available as well. Recommended 100%. ”

“ La Maison is great. It was the first hostel that I have ever stayed in, and I can only hope that if I stay in another they live up to the standards set by La Maison. The only issue is that there is a club located right across the street so on the weekends it can get a little loud if you're in the dorm right next to the main street, but other than that I really loved it there. ”

“ The location is very nice. The hostel is cool, cozy, decorated in a very hip way. The walls are thin, however they do a good job to make sure everyone is quiet after 11pm. The atmosphere is nice, free wifi & internet use. The kitchen is great. The bathroom and showers are on different floors. Might be a problem for some. Also I think the receptionist overcharged me and I realized this well after I left. That or they charge extra for linens/towel without telling you. ”

“ This hostel is meant for party animals and not committed travelers that want to sleep at night and wake up early. It is located right across a night club and if you spend MORE money for a double room, you will be between the club and the lounge. The lounge is where everyone plays music, drinks and converse. The worst sleep I have every gotten my money's worth. ”

“ The staff was friendly and it had a really good vibe, just don't expect to get any sleep. Bring ear plugs if you are staying in this hostel! Our window was directly across from a night club with a DJ that spun until 4am. The night club is less than 10 meters from the rooms. ”

“ Awesome place, but not a fan of the security--felt paranoid of my belongings being out in open, though nothing was stolen. Also, I was locked out at night for a few hours in the cold when power went out bc of electric keypad--I'd suggest a new system, one that works despite outages. ”

“ This is a really friendly and accessible hostel right in the heart of Old Montreal. The 22-room dorm is great, with very private feeling partitioned-off beds and the smaller 6-bed dorm is equally nice, and a little quieter. The staff is friendly, although not very present, so if you need something you have to plan to be around in the hours they are there. I would absolutely recommend this hostel - and plan to stay here again next time I am in Montreal. ”

“ Staff and location was amazing. I got there at 3:30am because of delayed flights and they had left me a note on the door and everything. Got in with no issues. A very friendly and warm atmosphere with whom we were able to throw a kick ass New Year's eve party. Wi-fi was kind of flaky but I helped them fix it and it worked great after that. ”

“ I can't say enough about this hostel. I've been to Montreal multiple times over the past few years, and I've stayed here each time. The staff are great, the location is perfect, and the accommodations are clean and welcoming.
