Lagares Hostel in Mendoza, Argentina

Awesome hostel! Had a great time and met some great people. The hostel was pretty clean and comfortable. Mendoza is a beautiful city and the hostel helped us arrange several reasonably priced day trips. Only minor issue was that the area seems a bit dodgy at night. Facilities looked ok at first glance, but on closer inspection everything was very dirty. Toilets and showers were blocked and staff were not interested. Room absolutely stank and was too hot. Air conditioning not working properly. When we tried to check out a day early they tried to make us pay for the whole stay. Dont bother!

Alex, could be possible that you became in a layer person just because the front desk guy followed the rules and charge you the night? You´d become or you are? All the hostel watched what you and friend did and they couldn´t understand

We got the room on the ground floor where the only ventilation were sliding doors towards the smoking areas...so our room was stinking of smoke in the night, and it was very hard to sleep because of the noise from people sitting there. Besides that the hostel was OK, staff was helpful and friendly and the location was good Emily, from Norway ~ 22nd Jan 2009
