Good points were the kitchen, the location, free internet and free welcome beer or wine. Also the bbq spot out the back. Bad points were you had to fight for the shower, internet and a spot in the kitchen. Also the private room didnt have a lake view. One staff member was lovely and helpful, the other not so.

we were first guests in this hostel and the owner wasn\'t ready enough for that, but he was really nice:) lake view. exellent food and location of the restaurant.

Beware lake lodge is a 5.60 franc bus ride from interlaken. and the last bus back is at 8pm so you are going to be in the small town of Istelwald. The beds in the 8 person bunks and shelvs with a 2x4 inbetween. However it is in a very beautiful place between the lake and the mountain.

Without a doubt the best place we have stayed ever in Europe, staff were amazing so friendly and helpful, we ended up staying an extra night it was that good. Cheers guys

FANTSTIC PLACE TO STAY. VERY NICE AND CLEAN WITH BEAUTIFUL VIEW OF LAKE AND BEST FOR BBQ. RESONABLE PRICED TO STAY AND STAFF IS SUPER CO-OPERATIVE. I PREFER TO STAY ONCE AGAIN THERE IN FUTURE. VASANT

It is strongly suggested the hostel invest in screens for the windows to avoid the problem with fly´s. It is a health issue when hundreds of fly´s are invading the kitchen and anoying for the customer. Flys carry many bacteria and land on your food. I have never paid soooo much for public transportation as I have in Switzerland. Either that or I wish the cost was advertised on the hostel listing, it is sorta decieving.

staff was never there. they put up no picnic signs in what we thought was an area for guests. there was only one key for the room shared by nine people. so if someone took the key by accident everyone else was locked out. if you could find a staff member they would help you set up an extreme outdoor activity and arrange for pick-up. which was nice.
