Had dinner there without asking for price - 10 euros a bit steep - check before agreeing! Room a bit small - bathroom built into the room. Very friendly though.

I only stayed 3 days but I had a wonderful time in Mauritius! I strongly recommend "Le Bamboo" (charming hotel situated near a river with a really nice landscape from the terrace) for the welcome, warmth and helpfulness the hosts gave me, it felt like being a part of the family :) I have such good memories there, I'll certainly go back, not only to visit the North of the island, but to see again this nice family! PS. I advise renting a car, it's the best way getting around easily :) (Laurence, Spain)

I absolutely loved my stay at Le Bamboo. It is run by the nicest family you will ever meet. They cook delicious meals for you, take you on tours if you want and are really helpful with suggestions about other things to do on Mauritius. My single room had a double bed, ensuite, air con and TV. The hotel is a 3 minute walk from the bus station and waterfront. Highly recommend it!!

This hostel has a very family athmosphere. I took lot of excursions with the owner and his family. It feels like you are very welcome and integrated into family life. The rooms are self made by the owner in Bamboo style. The dihes they prepare are very fresh and highly recommanded, especially the fish curry. If you stay 2 nights here you get the chance to see everything. The paradise island ile aux cherfs is very close.

Some will like this more than others. 10 minutes from airport and close to what I think is the prettiest part of the island, the owners will pick you up / drop you off any time of day for a reasonable fee (check more than once if you don't see anyone holding up your name at arrivals). Situated in sprawling residential area maybe half a mile from the sea, was noisy at night with dogs / arguing locals / call to prayers. Decent common room come restaurant come bar & has a roof platform. Very hospitable proprietors allow use of their private internet PC in their downstairs dwelling and offer private half and full round island tours (beach biased). Expect a laid back attitude with nothing needing to happen quickly. Rooms are suitable for sleeping but little else. Premises clearly renovated since fire escape map was drawn. Dividing walls are ply board with gap to next room around shared window frame. In room toilet cubicles are crampt, mirror's in shower rather than over sink and upper walls are glass with large gap over the door meaning that you and your neighbour round the window gap will hear everything in each other's room. Unknown whether the VCD worked. Clock, TV and air conditioner didn't. Had to request a towel, but was free on arrival as was the rest of the linen. Walls very popular with tiny creepy crawlies. Reasonable as Hostel accommodation in my single traveller annual RWT opinion and had no issues boiling my kettle in my room. Would suggest this is a base for exploration rather than a hotel.

Le Bamboo was by far the friendliest hotel I stayed in during my two weeks in Mauritius. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is situaded just by a river where you can go kayaking and its got a very nice view over mountains and he river from the roof terrace. I enjoyed my stay there very much.
