- “ one of the best hostels i have ever stayed in, thanks to the nice kitchen and great staff! ”

- “ Limited number of bathrooms. Ugly yellow walls. Blotchy paint job. Have to pay with cash. Breakfast was scant; just toast, coffee, and small amount of juice that quickly ran out. No reception at all after 11 PM. Poor Wi-Fi. Gave off a tacky old-fashioned vibe. Rooftop terrace was only standout feature. I've also stayed at M Montreal and Auberge Bishop, and those are much nicer with better amenities for slightly cheaper. Not worth staying here when you can do so much better for a lower price. ”

- “ i was very excited to receive an email almost immediately after booking, saying that i was being upgraded from a room with twin beds to a studio with a double bed and kitchenette. when i arrived however, we were back in the room with twin beds without notice of our 'downgrade' the staff seemed annoyed that i found this strange, essentially telling me that i was getting what i paid for and that was it. anyway, other than that disappointment, our stay was very pleasant, and we might stay again ”

- “ The hostel was very quaint and carefully decorated, clean and old fashioned. I loved the outdoor shower and all of the ivy hanging from the stairs. Compared to the many hostels I've stayed in around europe and in canada this one has a very conservative feel, perhaps it was the mix of people who happened to be there but I've never been in such a silent, tame, space. It was a nice space and I slept well. ”

- “ Location was good and the rooftop terrace was nice, but other than that it was just the basics. There was no airconditioning, so it was a bit hot. I wouldn't recommend it in the heat of summer. Price was a bit high for the quality of the place. And be weary of getting a room on the roof! I didn't get one, but there appears to be a shed-type addition with beds in it and I saw people staying there. ”

- “ We really liked the hostel. The first room we stayed in downstairs private bathroom was quite dingy. But we liked the room upstairs. Lovely staff. ”

- “ A reasonable hostel experience if not for two issues that made this a relatively poor experience for me overall. One, one six-bed dorm setup is located on the roof in a self-constructed wooden shed-like structure (i.e. shares rooftop lounge area, not shown in picture). This should be clearly indicated. Secondly, on one evening, there was a group of 4-5 policemen on the 2nd floor. Upon my inquiry, the policemen didn't give me a reason for being there. It was odd though late on a Friday evening. ”

- “ Went on my own and found a group of people willing to talk about a number of things- comes with the territory in this beautiful and exciting part of the city. Check out the rooftop patio as well. ”
