  • The reception of this hostel was at another hotel, Hotel Le Castel, where we ended up being put up. That place was a dump. We got a private room and it looked pretty beaten up. Difficult to beat the location (in the Latin Quarter) but that's about it. The floors and walls were paper thin. The heat was turned off during the day. Bathroom floor tiles were loose. Clearly, someone had had a big water accident in the bathroom upstairs at some point and they never bothered to replace the ceiling tilz

  • Friendly staff and great location. Only downside is there are no public lockers to store important items.

  • Very close to Downtown montreal as well as right on St Denis Street. The staff is 24 hours which makes checking in late easy. The beds are spring beds, which are a little uncomfortable, but not so much that you won't sleep. The lounge has a TV and a complimentary breakfast between 8:30 and 11:00 in the morning.

  • I had an excellent stay here. The location was central to St. Denis and walking to bars was convenient at night. There was no air conditioning so beware if you're staying in summer time. I stayed in a 6 female room. We had a full bathroom en suite. The staff was excellent and I would absolutely stay again. I paid a lot (~$35 USD), but it was much less than a hotel room for sure.

  • The bathroom door didn't lock but other than that we really enjoyed this hostel.

Practically, Barcelona is a pretty easy city to navigate on foot or by public transport with a well laid-out grid system for the streets and a simple metro system. Here's an example of what you can do with 24 hours and a T10 (10 journey) metro ticket.
