Although booking 2 beds in one dorm, my friend and I were not in the same room and we were offered beds but no locker to put our bags. The blankets felt damp and they seemed to be understaffed and do not book taxi's despite advertising next to the check in desk that they do. The charm of this hostel are the little things they do to make you feel welcome. Little things like installing universal outlets in the rooms, making sure noise levels don't get out of hand in the lobby at night, and a staff that is knowledgeable enough to provide directions. The dorm beds may not the most comfortable but they do the trick. The bar located at the roof is a great place to relax and escape the perpetual commotion of Shanghai's streets. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the location near a subway is really handy to see the sights and to access the airport and train stations. I have stayed here twice and the rooftop bar is a great place to chill out Cheryl, from England ~ 14th Jul 2009

This is right in the Jing'An area, so it's close enough to walk places without being bombarded with people asking for fake watches, etc. It is hidden in am alley that seems a bit dodgey, but once you step inside, it's very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. A great place to stay, clean facilities, new sheets everyday, friendly staff, free internet *wink*, and a nice location between the train station and nanjing road. also not far from jing'an subway stop which has a nice international supermarket. i can highly highly recommend this hostel! Fab hostel, very clean, very comfortable beds and very helpful staff. Location is in a nice area and the metro is within ten mins. Would stay here again and will recommend to friends. The breakfast is a little expensive for not very much. Camilla, from England ~ 6th May 2009
