The place was great, in the middle of pubs, and in front of the disco. You can use internet free in the library that is up street without any problem. The only problem was that was so far away from the rest of Los angeles, but we could see everything because we book a guide trip that the hostel recomend us, and it was really good. The breakfast was good (cereals, milk, coffe, toasts), and you could eat in the subway or cooking by yourself in the kitchen your own food. We were four people, and we were worried about the room, because we didn't saw any puctures about them...finally we were in the second floor (the best..because the first is too noisy because of the bars) and it was clean and we had a room for ourselves alone with view to the sea by a window. IT was great! Also we could rent a bike and we could ride by all the LA coast until Santa monica. I didn't like Venice Beach, because was full of homeless, but it was much cheaper in food and souvenirs (like t-shirts) than Hermosa Beach. The people in the hostel was so nice, and you could meet there a lot of people...the problem for us was that we meet all this wonderful people the last day, because the rest of the week we were doing a lot of things. Another problem: if you are not 21 you can't get inside any place...even for eat... two of my friends were under 21 so we couldn't do anything in the pubs...this was the only bad thing of the whole week.

Great location and wonderful, helpful staff. On the beach and close to numerous restaurants and nightspots. Though get a bunk on the 3rd floor if you want to go to bed early. I felt safe there, but there were no lockers and the back door was left open most of the time - maybe just part of the SoCal relaxed attitude.

Great place, kind of loud, but I like that. Probably wouldn't stay there if you're coming for the Hollywood scene (it's a drive), but the beach is terrific, and in a pretty safe area.

Great location, awesome paintings on the walls, maybe not as good as I expected, and it is located above some very noisy night clubs, but all in all not to bad at all.
