It really was nice to relax in a calm and peacefull environment after having spend the whole day in the (busy and crowded) centre. The possibilities at the hostel were enough to try something new each day (play cards in the lucky lounge, read a book in the hangmats, go swimming, kajakking, make a walk around the lake, get to know other travellers during breakfast,...). Really enjoyed our stay at the lucky lake hostel!

Good fun atmosphere. Shuttle every hour to nearest village, also bus service at gate. Lovely environment. Bikes of dubious quality available for hire to see beautiful surrounding countryside

very nice atmosphere, far granted, but a good deal and pleasant after the city proper. very sweet staff also. all in all good.
really nice set up. fair priced internet,lovely hot showers, cozy caravans, clean, would definately reccomend. We stayed right in the centre for one night did all the city stuff and then stayed at the lake as it is a bit of a commute. Lucky lake website is really honest about amenities and location. Thanks we enjoyed our stay.
Great little place, pity it was so far out from the centre but most people staying here are also not likely to be in a hurry to go anywhere and we never found the distance restrictive. Staff were awesome and the caravans were nice.
This place is a bit far out if you're going to the city every day. The lake is a bit far away and we were unable to locate a beach or anything of the likes (plus the map provided is no good). We got a bit confused and asked if we were supposed to be checking out and the person at the counter said yes and in error checked us out a day early without saying anything or discounting us for the last day. We got all the way into the city center to our second hostel before finding out. Pretty lame.

This place is awesome! It has great character, ducks that harass you, and is right on a lake (ride bikes, its a must!). It is inconvient to get too esp. with Amsterdams crazy ticketing system (who really knows how many tickets it takes?). But an awesome place to stay with great staff!

Very fun, not so good location... don't let that put you off though. Ideal if you wanna chill out from the effects the vibrant and hussle and bussle of the city.
