  • It looks like a true 3 star HOTEL, but with bunk beds. I really got surprised. Excellent value for money. The only (small) problem is the distance from old city, about 2 km. I definitely recomend.

  • One of the best Hostel I've stayed. Friendly stuff, clean rooms and adorable atmosphere. If I come back one day to Salzburg, defenitively I'd stay on this place.

  • Clean facilities, staff was VERY helpful (helped us with bus system, trip planning, Salzburg advice, and seemed passionate and knowledgeable about the city), wifi in rooms was great. Secure lockers, but bring your own lock. Clean linens provided, but you had to make your own bed. Soap and shampoo/bodywash in bathrooms. Facilities seemed quite new. A chill general area with couches, relaxing and social feel without being overwhelming. Close to a bus stop, but about a 20 min walk to the old town.

  • Although it is a bus ride (or a long walk) away from the interesting bits of town, the staff are more than willing to help you figure out the public transport necessary. Otherwise, this place is great, super well equipped, excellent keycard security, and a great atmosphere! I would definitely recommend it for anyone visiting Salzburg. Also, it's a stones throw away from a Hofer, which is the cheapest supermarket in Austria.

  • Very secured hostel. Clean, but sometime wifi in the room doesn't work. Also, too far from city center...

  • kitchen is too small for those many people in the hostel. and the location is too far away from the main station and the city center for tour. The rest is in quite good quality.

  • Our family stayed in a mixed suite for six with four bunk beds and a double bed. The room was plain but very clean and the bathroom was exceptionally clean. This location is a little more than a mile from the center of town but a bus stop is half a block away. It is professionally run and a good value.

  • We were expecting to stay in a standard hostel, but Meininger is actually a hotel! The two person ensuite is perfect and the staff is extremely helpful. The hotel is ideal for all ages, including families. It is located 10 minutes from the main part of the city, and the bus system is very easy to use. A little tip, when in the train station go to the tourist center and ask how to get to Meininger. They will give you printed instructions, and you can buy a cheaper all day bus pass there as well.

  • I didn't like to have to have my door key in the slot in order for the electricity to be on. I was the only person in the room and wanted to leave, but I was recharging my camera's battery and needed to stay. At first I was peeved that the hostel wasn't closer to the old town, but after I figured out the bus system, getting around was easy. This was the only hostel in which I stayed that did not provide breakfast. However, I liked that they had a kitchen for our use.

  • pretty nice place, easy to find and well served by bus providing good facilities, comfortable beds, clean whites and heating-air conditioning perfect. very cheap to sleep!! breakfast not included, but it doesn't matter as it's near some different bar and a big store. very kind and helpful staff! I'm happy I've been there. when I'll come back to Salzburg I'll book again in Meininger!

  • The staff at Meininger were super friendly, and very helpful. The only hitch is that it is a bit of a walk from the trainstation, so you might want to get some specific directions and gear up before you venture out. It's a nice and easy distance to the city centre, though. The dorms were amazing, so clean and spacious.
