We were greeted by unfriendly staff that were not interested in showing us the hostel or even letting us know how to get to our room, bathroom, showers, ect. I was not expecting 5 star treatment by any means. I have stayed in several hostels before and have always felt more invited and welcome than I felt when I walked into Marlborough. The showers were not clean and there was only one toilet working at the time which I find odd in a place that seems to be booked to capacity.

Actually that was my second time staying at Marlborough. This place felt like home away from home and it was within walking distance to nearly everything. The guys who run the hostel help you feel very welcome, and it feels more like a lively dorm so you really interact with the other guests. The staff is very big on cleanliness which already makes a huge plus over other hostels. Overall big recommendations!

It is the most hostel-y hostel I've ever been to. The showers are mixed and all the way on the lowest floor. There were a few scattered bathrooms, clearly marked male or female, but no one paid attention to those signs. I loved the breakfast atmosphere- it was very laid-back and friendly. I traveled with a large group of 17 and we all had reservations, but it took them about 2 hours to check us in, which was torturous.

Great "home-like" feel - Loved the character with the bright walls, games rooms, little hidden quirks, and tourist boards - Staff were very friendly and helpful - Only 2 blocks away from O'Connell St (lots to see there) - Great free continental breakfast - Free internet (could use more computers) - Nice hot showers - Great idea with the hostel providing locks and keys to personal storage drawers under each bed - Great place to stay while on a budget! - I would definitely return to this hostel!!

there is very little information about, check in and out, breakfast and generally how the hostel works, i would avoid it because there are so many other great hostels in Dublin. and it isn't very clean.

5 out of the 6 nights we stayed at the hostel there was extremely a lot of people, street and bird noise which would awaken us and keep us awake.

Not too bad. It is very closed to city central. I love it!
