The Marmara Guesthouse really exceeded our expectations, the hostel was clean, very friendly & provided a great breakfast! The only real down sides were that because we had booked the cheapest double room there was no air conditoning which was not nice in 30 degree heat - the hostel did however provide a fan but this didnt do much. Overall we woud definetly stay at the Marmara again it is great value, prefectly placed, friendly and has a great view from the rooftop terrace.

We really recommend this guesthouse. Although it is a very simple house, the family is warm, the rooms are good (with very needed air conditioned for summer time) and the breakfast is a decent breakfast. The only thing we would change is the turkish bathroom - but after all, that´s an insignifcant detail.

The location was excellent for Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sofia and Grand Bazaar. Elif and her family were extremely helpful and wonderful hosts. I would highly recommend staying here if you want to be close to main sights and want more of a family feel to your holiday accommodation.

My daughter, sister-in-law and I were so impressed with this family-run guesthouse. The owners were extremely kind and helpful and the rooms, although small, were perfectly comfortable and beautifully decorated with Turkish tent hangings. This is a quiet and friendly establishment - no entertainments but in Istanbul not needed. Hope to go again one day. And the home-made jam is indeed delicious!

Marmara is an excellent B and B! The staff are incredibly helpful. The breakfast in the morning is delicious! The location is great, only a 5 minute walk from the Blue Mosque, with lots of great bars/ restaurants to explore just outside your front door. A great place! It is quiet though, so if you're looking for lots of fun on the terrace this isn't the right choice, but apart from that it's great!
