I booked on hostels. com. They upheld there part of the contract. they did not charge me extra forneeding an rollaway bed. THe place was clean. The pillows were amazing. The rooms were small but so are all the other hotels in NYC. If you stay there for more than 2days get a 7d pass b/c if ull use about that much just getting around Manhattan. It is quite a walk from there. The staff was freindly and helpful. Kamilah, from USA ~ 12th Apr 2012

I enjoyed my stay in this hotel and I would go back. But next time I would book it on the hotels page because I had some problems with the reservation. They did not recive my reservation I made on hostels.com. That caused some misunderstandings and turned into a very unfriendly conversation with the staff. So that was a minus. But finally we got a nice and clean room. :-) Susann, from Germany ~ 28th Feb 2012

They tried to charge me twice as much as my reservation and it's not really worth it. They finally sorted it out, but after missing a flight and a very long day, it wasn't a happy suprprise. Manuel, from Argentina ~ 21st Dec 2011

I worked as a Front Office Manager for several Marriott hotels across the country and for folks on a budget that need a safe and accessible place to stay in NYC this is a wonderful find. The hotel is located right next to the subway and Starbucks, which u cannot beat hotel staff is extremely sweet and helpful, for two females it felt safe and secure (even returning late at night). Only suggestions are to bring ear plugs for sleeping or napping (Walls are thin.) and there are no elevators so if y Jessica, from USA ~ 27th Oct 2011

The only reason why this hostel seems popular, is that it is very difficult to find accommodation in New York. It is for a reason that this is about the only place that had some rooms available two weeks before our departure. Especially the staff is rude and never helpful. They do not listen to any questions, rolling their eyes at their guests, always busy amongst themselves making jokes about a conflict they seem to be having with their management.
