Stayed in the rooftop-shared room: totally unique open-air space w/ no lights (enough from street) + balcony. Feels a lot like camping in the middle of a city, you hear it all: lovely prayer calls, the not-so-lovely squawking birds, people chatting. Was AMAZING to wake up next to the Aya Sophia mornings and walk around the block Topkapi Palace. Loved Ali + his assi. Karolina: total sweethearts, will help out with anything! 24hr-watch, felt safe as single woman, many cool, single inter. travelers Daniela, from Germany ~ 19th Jun 2011

The hostel is located in an ideal area, but it isn't really clean.Although the towels, sheets where clean the were so old they kept looking dirty. The hostel could invest more time/money in making the place look cleaner, so there is no mold or dust. Maria Palina, from Netherlands ~ 6th Jun 2011

great turkish breakfast. the top floor was a rooftop terrace converted into a 20-some bunk bed floor complete with a tarped roof. The birds bouncing on the tarp make for a delightful pitter-patter sound of raindrops during any day. Plus, Ali, the owner, is absolutely awesome and extremely helpful. We didn't know what to expect from a 22-person room on the roof, but it turned out to be one of my favorite memories. It was cold, but the hostel supplies enormous blankets. The best part of the whole hostel is Ali, the owner. He is a wealth of information and humor.Breakfast (eggs, toast, sliced tomatoes, coffee or tea) was superb, and there is a rich, fascinating mixture of guests (though it's not so much the American college crowd).Showers are difficult, but I'd definitely go back!!
