Room Cards don't work very well and the Air Con in my room didn't work, which made it very difficult to sleep!...

Good 24hr reception. Great facilities, lovely pools and bars, plenty of shade. There are showers and a kitchen but with the number of U21 guests using them they need to be cleaned four times a day, not once a day.

Great pool area, practically a resort hostel... it was tempting to lie around all day.

Friendly, helpful, 24 hour staff; excellent security (large lockable cupboards per guest, swipe card access); perfect location (heart of city amongst vibrant bars and restaurants, opposite Coles, near beach and park,'Crocodilus' with crocs next door)and FUN!! Can't go past Mela's atmosphere - pool deck and bar area a fab way to un-wind and meet many fun, interesting travelers. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend(almost recommend Darwin visit just to stay there!)

Our room had a serious mold problem. There was even mold on our pillows. However, the staff did address the situation.

Was rainy season while i was there so was pretty much confined to the hostel. Was also very quiet. I am sure that it would be a great fun hostel in season

Had a room door that couldn\'t lock and the security locker was broken. Se security was poor. At the end i fixed the door myself and when i asked for a cuty map i was told were to get one and if i would bring one back for the hostel as wel.. Little bit of service goes a long way.
