Great Hostel / Hotel, very cheap but very tough to find. For those looking, its around the corner from the flash Kunming Hotel in the centre of town. Go to reception there and ask for directions. Its a 5min walk.

Very quiet at night, yet within walking distance to markets, shops, Lonely Planet restaurant recommendations.

I like this hotel, though the entrance is very small, and don't expect good view from your room. The stuff members are very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The room is not the luxurious type, but big, clean and comfortable. We ended up canceling a big hotel and staying there for one more night. Not sure about their English, 'cause I spoke Chinese with them. :-)

Great staff and very nice, spotless clean rooms. It's a great place when you are looking for a quiet place to rest.

Loved the big, bright, airy room. This place also has in-room internet connection! Staff is super nice and helpful but lack English skills.

We stayed for only one night and unfortunately they gave our double-bed room to someone else, allthough we had requested for this and informed them that we would check-in in the evening. The lady that was at the reception when we arrived wouldn't call a taxi for us, the next day it was no problem for the other lady that was working at the reception. Not a bad stay here, room is pretty clean (bit of fungus in bathroom) and nice but the above mentioned was a bit of a pity for us.

More hotel than hostel. Make sure you book private bathroom (else: very limited showers, only betw. 9am-10pm!). Staff speaks litle English. Daily roomcleaning! Area is very nice, great taiwanese pancake around the corner (with your back to entrance, first street left, after 10 mts, yellow signs).
