- “ I wouldn't stay anywhere else when I go to Shanghai. I had the private suite and I enjoyed the room better than I do at most hotels. My only complaint would be the very strange hot-water hours, but it was easy to adapt to. The social life in the commons area downstairs was fantastic. ”

- “ The staff at the Mingtown Etour Youth Hostel was exceptionally helpful. Their knowledge on how to move around in Shanghai was truly commendable and for a person who has never experienced staying at a youth hostel, I must say that I was truly impressed. I am a frequent traveler and i am used to to staying at nice hotels. When I was first introduced to a Youth Hostel, I was thinking that it'd probably be kinda of a run down hostel but to my amazement, I was very happy staying there! Well done! ”

- “ I really liked this hostel even though I wasn't there very long. Clean, quiet and in the middle of the city with great character - also clear directions! The only problem was the very early morning staff (I left at 6am) was a bit rude and wanted me to sign for the deposit return before handing it to me (and he didn't seem to speak English) ”

- “ ...must be one of the nicest places in Shanghai...in a nice, quiet alley of low-level houses, in the shadow of the distinctive Marriot hotel... The cosy building and courtyard has a lot of character. Excellent location - a short walk from People's Square, and metro-lines 2 and 10. On the down-side: having to share a bathroom with at least one other room...and last time, I had someone knocking on my door early in the morning, and later the cleaning staff entering my room while I was still in bed ”

- “ A lovely relaxed hostel - a little serene heaven to escape to from the hustle and bustle of Shanghai. Friendly and helpful staff, big clean dorm rooms, good clean showers, and a wonderful central courtyard. What more could you ask for! ”

- “ If adding a small table in the room and a mirror on the wall near the entrance, that will be fine. ”
